Video conferencing will be used by 75% of organisations by 2013

75% of Enterprises will be using video conferencing by 2013 according to a report released by IT products and services firm CDW. It found that fully immersive telepresence solutions that use high-definition, true to life images are extremely appealing towards organisations. The only concern is whether the IT infrastructure can cope with the bandwidth demands.

Bill Coe, BDM of CDW’s video solutions group, has said. “Today, people on desktops, tablets, or Android devices can participate seamlessly in conferences across all of the other platforms, including immersive telepresence. No one has to be siloed any more because of the platform they choose, and that has completely turned the tide in the video conferencing arena.”

The survey by CDW identified that only one in five telecommunication organisations are using immersive telepresence solutions for communication, collaboration, and training activities, however forty eight percent are planning to introduce a telepresence solution within the next few years.

Videonations offer a high quality,  fully immersive telepresence solution at low bandwidth at half the cost of a telepresence solution from the leading suppliers. Videopresence by Videonations was credited with an award for Best Telepresence Solutions of 2009 by leading industry publication Video Conferencing Insight Newsletter.
