Videxia Desktop is a high performance hosted video conferencing service from Videonations aimed at extending the video conferencing reach of organisations to remote and mobile workforces in an affordable way.
Manchester, UK 11 March 2010 – Videonations, a leading video conferencing, audio visual and IP telephony integrator is pleased to announce the launch of its hosted desktop video conferencing service named Videxia Desktop. Intended as a cost-effective and simplistic alternative to a traditionally installed client, Videonations is offering the Videxia Desktop service as a bolt-on to existing video conferencing solutions.
Videxia Desktop is a downloadable web client for use on a standard PC with internet connection. Designed for system-quality, high performance video conferencing, Videxia Desktop enables users to connect to any standards-based video conferencing system, IP handset or firewall protected PC and experience high quality video conferencing from wherever they are.
Adrian Hancock, Director of Technology at Videonations says, “Many home and mobile workers don’t get to benefit from high quality video conferencing because they don’t have convenient access to a dedicated video conferencing system, so something like Videxia is ideal. It offers many of the sought after features of conventional room systems, like the ability to switch from one-to-one to multiparty conferencing, but is ten times more convenient and cost effective because you can just use a laptop, webcam and headset.”
Videxia Desktop is powered by the RADVISION SCOPIA platform and hosted in a resilient data centre with 3 x Tier 1 internet connections to ensure service continuity and stability.
Adrian adds, “It’s early days but Videxia has already made a difference to the way a handful of our customers communicate. Some switched from difficult to manage in-house conferencing clients while others weren’t getting the functionality they needed from the web conferencing applications they were using.”
There are three different service options starting from £35 per month, per client under a 12 month contract. Ad hoc usage of the service for a fixed number of participants over a fixed period of time is also an available option.
